This was a large part of the problem we're facing now to begin with. Ronald Reagan declared war on the middle class and we lost. Cutting taxes on the wealthy, deregulation and free trade agreements were all part of the assault and were virtually the same things that caused the last Republican depression. While Republicans will disagree, it was massive spending, all financed with debt, that lifted us out of that depression and it was FDR's New Deal that built the middle class of the fifties and sixties. It just seems like it is getting to the point where the country is going to go bankrupt and my husband and I are just a little concerned that our kids and grandkids are going to have some big problems in a few years.
